Aurora 26 · The showcase

We built something. You watched it run.

A robot arm lifts one corner of the white sheet covering the showcase. Purple light escapes through the gap.

We’ve all gotten used to filling in screens in applications that are not 100% built for what we do and how we think. With the arrival of agentic AI, a lot of flexibility (call it intelligence if you want) is now a reality. In nine days we built a new enterprise operating system with AI: one you talk to instead of fill in. On 15 October it ran in front of you. No slides and no nonsense, just the system itself.

Imagine you can talk to your IT systems like you can talk to your colleagues.

  1. Had a good talk with Karl on the possibility to start project X in January.

    Rolls into your CRM automatically.

  2. My timesheets for this week are the same as last week.

Are you sure? There’s a public holiday on Tuesday and it seems you didn’t work on Monday.

Why we did it

Not telling. Showing.

The paradigm shift has already happened for software developers. Law firms and finance are up next, and in the end we will all be interacting differently with our information systems. In a lot more fluent and human way. Less data entry, more conversation. Aurora was the evening TAG and Kapernikov showed what that looks like today: no predictions about the future, no endless slide shows and no abstract promises. Three things you took home.

  1. You saw what nine days produces

A working enterprise operating system, built with AI in nine days, running live on a screen. Not a mockup and not a video.

  2. You left knowing what it costs

We walked through the approach, the choices and the places where it hurt. Enough to judge what a comparable project would ask of your own organisation.

  3. You talked to the people who built it

After the demo the builders were at their booth, not behind a desk. Questions about architecture, data model or cost got answered by whoever wrote the code.

  2. 19:00
Intro, technical walkthrough and demoLive, the system itself, no slides

First the frame: why an enterprise operating system as the test case, and what we set out to do. Then the technical walkthrough, with the data model and where AI sat in the build. After that the demo on the system itself: orders, stock and invoicing, in the real application, including where it went wrong and what we had to rebuild.

  3. 20:30
    BreakFood and drinks

A short pause, and the first questions to the builders in the room.

  4. 21:00
    KeynoteRik Vera

Rik Vera put the evening in a wider frame: what actually changes in an organisation once building gets this much faster, and which questions a leadership team then has to ask itself.

  5. 22:00
ClosingWords of gratitude and practical info

End of the formal part, with what would become available after the evening and how to take it further.

  6. 22:10

The system kept running at the booth, with the builders next to it. Dessert, drinks and a DJ set.
